The MaXfield Promise

Safety at MaXfield

Safety and Environmental Protection

MaXfield’s primary operating considerations are safety and environmental and community protection. That is why all MaXfield employees, from entry level to senior management, are held accountable and responsible for implementing company safety and environmental protection initiatives.

By involving everyone from the top down in our safety initiatives we can ensure we are all on the same page, and that any questions or concerns can be addressed. We have a full time safety supervisor who is based at our Crossfield, Alberta facility. This supervisor is in charge of the entire safety team and is responsible for the training and qualifications of all safety coordinators at MaXfield. Each MaXfield facility has its own safety coordinator. The safety supervisor meets with all safety coordinators on a monthly basis to address any concerns and to update everyone on any changes in policy. This critical information is brought up in the weekly "Toolbox" safety meetings, which are conducted by each safety coordinator for the employees at his or her facility.

By having these regular meetings we help employees to internalize regular safety habits as well as provide intensive training to new employees so they can understand the specific hazards related to their work and minimize the associated risks. We also offer formalized employee certifications and individualized training programs, which include:

  • Confined space certifications and training
  • Fall protection
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Identification System (WHMIS)
  • Partnerships in Health and Safety Program
  • Membership in the Manufacturer’s Health and Safety Association
  • Membership in ISNetworld
  • Membership in ComplyWorks

The safety supervisor also ensures that all employees have the appropriate safety certificates, and receive timely training to keep them up to date.

The safety supervisor also ensures that all of MaXfield’s safety certifications are up to date. MaXfield holds its provincial COR (Certificate of Recognition), Alberta’s primary safety certification. We also always ensure that three year external COR audit is up to date, and conduct internal yearly COR audits to ensure we are always in compliance.

We also take environmental protection very seriously, and perform annual environmental audits at all MaXfield facilities to ensure that no contamination has occurred. This helps us to maintain a clean and safe facility, and protect the environment and the surrounding communities.
